Project Alive & Kicking does not ask you to submit any personal information to simply browse the Site www.projectaliveandkicking.org. However, you will not be able to utilize ME Preg or access all parts of the Site or interact with Project Alive & Kicking without supplying certain personal information. For example, should you request that we transmit the Project Alive & Kicking e-newsletter to you, we will ask for your name and email address so we can add you to the mailing list for future distribution. Likewise, to use ME Preg you will be asked for your email address, cell phone number for text messaging, information related to pregnancy (such as the due date, the baby’s gender, your primary care physician’s contact information, appointment information, etc), and social media usernames. Information required by ME Preg is not sold, rented or shared except as set forth in this Privacy Policy. The Project Alive & Kicking e-newsletter mailing list is used only to email the e-newsletter, to send notices about Project Alive & Kicking activities and for email campaigns. We do not sell, rent, or share our mailing list except as set forth in this Privacy Policy. In the event you wish to update or delete your email address in our possession at any time for any reason please contact info@projectaliveandkicking.org to make those changes.
In addition to your name and email address, as well as the other information specified above, we may collect the following information:
Project Alive & Kicking will use your personally identifiable information internally to provide you with information about Project Alive & Kicking’s work. Project Alive & Kicking may also use this information to provide you with access to various sections of our Site and ME Preg that may be personalized for your needs.
Project Alive & Kicking shares your personally identifiable information such as your name, email and/or postal address and credit card information with third party processors and service providers. For example, Project Alive & Kicking shares such information with third parties that provide hosting services to provide you with access to various sections of our Site and ME Preg.
We use security/encryption protocols to protect the transmission of the information you submit to us through ME Preg for the information and/or educational purposes it serves and when you use our secure online donation forms. We may use information you submit to use for assisting in pregnancy research, processing payments and mailing acknowledgement letters. We may also use this information to send you information about Project Alive & Kicking’s activities, and for mail campaigns, unless you choose not to be contacted. Just as we protect sensitive information online, we also use certain efforts to protect users’ information offline. Currently, our user information is restricted primarily in our offices and our servers are all password protected.
If a user’s personally identifiable information (such as address) changes or if a user no longer desires to be affiliated with us, Project Alive & Kicking will endeavor to correct or update the personal data which the user has provided to us. In the event that you want to view, update, or delete your personal information or your donation information, please contact info@projectaliveandkicking.org.
Users who no longer wish to receive our e-newsletter or other communications from Project Alive & Kicking may opt-out of receiving specific communication from us by clicking unsubscribe to any digital communications. Alternatively, you may email us at info@projectaliveandkicking.org, and we will accommodate your request. Project Alive & Kicking will endeavor to change your status within 10 business days of your contacting us. Please note that some activities and mailings may already be in progress, and we may not be able to effectuate the changes prior to the transmission of those notices already being processed.
In addition, our web and application servers automatically collect and store non-personal (aggregated) information: the name of the domain and host from which you access the internet; the internet protocol (“IP”) address of the computer you are using; the browser software you use and your operating system; the date and time you access our sites; and the internet address of the site from which you linked directly to our site. This information may be used by Project Alive & Kicking to administer the Site.
Project Alive & Kicking hires third parties to provide credit card processing services and order fulfillment services. If you have opted to donate online, you will be asked to provide and we may share your personal information, including credit card or billing information, with these service providers. If the law or a regulatory authority compels us, Project Alive & Kicking will disclose personally identifiable information. In addition to providing the Services (as defined in the ME Preg Terms) to help you make informed decisions over the course of a pregnancy, Project Alive & Kicking seeks to advance pregnancy health research, pregnancy services, pregnancy health professionals and public education. To that end, Project Alive & Kicking and our research partners, including academics, reproductive health specialists, or medical facilities may use your aggregate data from the Services to conduct and/or publish our research. Our findings could be used for scientific and/or medical abstract, journals, oral or poster presentations, journalism, or internal uses to better patient experiences at facilities. We require our research partners whom we share aggregate information to agree that they will not attempt to make this information personally identifiable, for example by combining it with other databases. Information we share with our research partners will be anonymous and not associated with your name or any identifying information you provided us. By accepting Project Alive & Kicking’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, you give consent to our research partners to use the aggregate data collected by the Services. Project Alive & Kicking will keep confidential your personal information.
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this Site, so that our users are always informed of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
